Browser preview

A browser beside the chat, pointed at your dev server, which PandaOS can drive itself.

The server stops with the preview

The Browser MCP server starts with the preview and stops when you close it.

Open it

  1. Press Cmd+B, or Ctrl+B, or the Browser icon in the session header.
  2. Start the dev server if it is not running. — The play button on the project card, or your own command in the terminal.

What you get

Your app rendered inside PandaOS, with a URL bar, a refresh, and a screenshot button that attaches the shot to the chat, which is the quickest way to ask about something visual.

The dev server indicator reads grey for stopped, amber while starting, green for healthy and red for an error. The project card carries play, stop, restart, kill and start, and open.

PandaOS can drive it

With the preview open, PandaOS can navigate, click, type, scroll, screenshot, read the console and evaluate JavaScript in your running app, which is how it debugs a UI problem rather than guessing at one.

Requirements

To use the browser preview, your project needs:

  1. A dev server configured, set during project setup (the dev command and port)
  2. The dev server running, start it from the project card on the Dashboard

If no dev server is configured, the browser panel shows instructions to set one up.

Browser Panel Features

Once the dev server is running, the browser preview shows:

  • Embedded webview, your app rendered in a webview inside PandaOS
  • URL bar, shows the current URL (e.g., http://localhost:3000)
  • Refresh, reload the page
  • Screenshot, capture a screenshot of the preview and attach it to your chat (useful for asking PandaOS about visual issues)

Per-Project Persistence

Each project has its own browser session with isolated cookies and storage. This means:

  • Login sessions are preserved per project
  • Local storage is separate between projects
  • Cookies don't leak between different projects

Browser MCP

When the browser preview is open, PandaOS automatically starts a Browser MCP server that gives PandaOS the ability to interact with your app:

  • Navigate to URLs
  • Click elements
  • Type text
  • Take screenshots
  • Read console logs
  • Scroll the page
  • Evaluate JavaScript

This means PandaOS can see and interact with your running app when debugging UI issues or testing features. The MCP server tools are automatically registered and available to PandaOS.

The Browser MCP server stops automatically when you close the browser preview.
